The Improvisation course offers the opportunity to develop extemporising skills under the guidance of some of the world’s leading authorities on keyboard improvisation. Alongside three hours of individual lessons, there are workshops and opportunities to perform. Styles covered include jazz, modern and classical. 

Faculty working on this course in 2026 include Jason Rebello, Douglas Finch, Yuanfan Yang, Les Chisnall and Simon Parkin.

No experience is necessary to apply for this course. It is possible to apply for just one or two lessons on the course if you feel that the whole course would be too intense. Please indicate your preferences on the application form
