A vibrantly inspirational early evening recital featuring works by the Russian composer/pianist Alexander Rosenblatt. Rosenblatt’s dynamic, energised, communicative music makes a direct emotional impact. Many of the new generation of 21st century pianists have championed his music internationally and we are thrilled to present a cross section of his art in Manchester. Performers include the composer himself, Dina Parakhina, Callum McLachlan and students from Chetham’s school of music and the Royal Northern College of Music.
Programme to include the Sleeping Beauty – Jazz Fantasy on a Theme by Tchaikovsky with Dina Parakhina and Callum McLachlan.
Rosenblatt was born in Moscow on 31st July 1956 as the son of a violinist father and a pianist mother. He studied at the Moscow Conservatory from 1975 to 1982 with Pavel Messner (piano) and Karen Khachaturian (composition). His works range from classical music to crossover and jazz.
