Neysun Rouhani
Biographical Info
Neysun began piano lessons with his father at the age of four. He later studied with
Gagik Babayan and Raphael Minaskanian—a pupil of Ilona Kabos and Carl Ulrich
Schnabel—before moving to Vienna to train with Gerhard Geretschläger. He then
relocated to London to study with Benjamin Kaplan, who became the most significant
influence on both his pianism and teaching. Neysun holds a Master’s degree in Piano
Performance and an LTCL in teaching from Trinity College of Music. His artistic
development was further shaped by studies with distinguished musicians including
Menahem Pressler, Charles Rosen, Martino Tirimo, and Yonty Solomon.
As a performer, Neysun has appeared widely across Europe, the United States, and the
Middle East. He has been featured as a soloist with orchestras such as the Sofia
Philharmonic, Sofia Soloists, Pazardjik Symphony Orchestra, Ruse Philharmonic
Orchestra, Atlanta Community Orchestra, the Philharmonic of the Republic of North
Macedonia, and the Graz Chamber Orchestra.
He has served on the jury panels of many piano competitions in Canada, the United
States, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Iran, and has given masterclasses throughout
the UK and Europe.
In 2023, Neysun co-founded the Miele Canto Concert Series with his sister, creating a
platform dedicated to oAering young musicians meaningful performance opportunities,
support, and artistic visibility.
As a teacher, he maintains a flawless 100% pass rate across all ABRSM and Trinity grade
and diploma examinations. His students have been laureates of national and
international competitions and have earned scholarships to prestigious schools such
as Eton, Haberdashers’, NLCS, Highgate, and Channing, as well as to leading
conservatoires including the Royal College of Music, Trinity Laban, the Barenboim–Said
Academy, and the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.
