Henry Cash
Biographical Info
“Henry is a true musician armed with a very solid technique that seems to know no difficulties… His musicianship is of great architectural lines and his body movements are like a continual wave from which sounds are discovered with naturalness and ease”
- Christopher Axworthy
Henry grew up in Huddersfield and joined Chetham’s School of Music at the age of thirteen to study with Peter Lawson. He then went on to the Royal Academy of Music and later the Royal Northern College of Music.
Henry won the Chetham’s Concerto Competition at the age of fifteen with his performance of Rachmaninoff’s 1st Piano Concerto. He subsequently gave two public performances with the Chetham’s Symphony Orchestra. Since then, he has enjoyed further competition successes, including a Silver Medal at the James Mottram International Piano Competition. He now combines a busy schedule of performing and teaching with accompaniment work, for which he is highly in demand.
Henry’s solo performing career has taken him to some of the foremost classical venues in the UK and his performances have been broadcast on Radio 3 and Classic FM. He has made several concerto appearances with top UK orchestras including a performance of the Grieg Piano Concerto with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in 2021.
Henry is eternally grateful for the guidance he has received over the years from professors Colin Stone, Rustem Hayroudinoff, Graham Caskie, and Peter Lawson.
Henry was the Head of Music at English National Ballet School from 2023-25.
