Tessa Nicholson
Biographical Info
Tessa Nicholson is a Professor of Piano at the Royal Academy of Music, London, and also teaches at the Purcell School for Music for Young Musicians.
Reknowned for her outstanding skills as a teacher, many of her students have successful international careers, having been prizewinners at competitions such as the Leeds (2021), Vigo, Van Cliburn Junior (2015) and Liszt, Weimar for Young Pianists (2005, 2014 and 2023), amongst others.
Tessa had a busy early career, twice performing concertos with the CBSO, whilst still in her teens. This was followed by several performances at the Wigmore Hall, the South Bank and many recordings for BBC’s radio 3. She also performed in Europe and the Far East.
Tessa’s teachers and mentors have included Maria Curcio, Guido Agosti and Lamar Crowson.
Currently, Tessa is much in demand as a teacher, and her students frequently perform worldwide, and at all the major venues in London.
