Teaching session 1

The first  session of the day with all members of the faculty working intensely in individual lessons with the participants. Children are encouraged to watch other lessons. Courses include aural, jazz, composition, harpsichord and much more!

Drop in performance class

An informal class where everyone can come along between lessons and practise to play their piece to a member of the faculty on a lovely grand piano.  

Group class workshops

After all the individual lessons and practise throughout the day, everyone joins together for another group class workshop. Areas covered will include performance nerves, repertoire planning, practise tips, technical control and much more. Sessions are live-streamed for the online course participants.    Chetham's Medieval Baronial Hall  

Social time

A chance for everyone to unwind at the end of the day. Non residents leave for the day and the residents can choose from options including socials in house, fit to perform in the gym, practise, duet playing - or relaxing in the house TV lounge.  

Group class workshops

The morning group class for all four piano courses. A chance to learn together before the intensive individual lessons begin. The sessions are live-streamed for all the online participants.    

Drop in practise class

A chance to receive help on any aspect of a piece you are working on. It could be on fingering, pedal, interpretation, rhythm, phrasing etc - come along and find solutions from a member of the faculty.

Stoller Hall

The final evening recital is given by several of the outstanding members of the faculty including John Lenehan, Murray McLachlan, Kathryn Page, Lulu Yang, Ben Powell, Sam Brook, Gemma Beeson, Gemma Webster. Programme to include Ravel, Gershwin, John Ireland and much more.

Social time

The final evening social time for everyone. Non residents leave for the day and residents can enjoy spending time in house with the team of house parents or taking advantage of all the wonderful pianos available to play, ready for the final recitals tomorrow. Oglesby atrium
