We are thrilled to announce the Junior Academy – an exciting new addition to the Chetham’s International Piano Summer School.
The Academy is suitable for all levels of pianists from grade 1 through to young artists preparing for international competitions. The outstanding facilities and individual course programmes on the Academy will ensure every participant will receive nurturing guidance, illuminating advice and inspirational daily individual lessons from an unrivalled faculty. It is possible to book an advice audition during the course and receive written feedback from the Head of Keyboard at Chetham’s Dr Murray McLachlan, or another member of the piano faculty at the school.
Resident and non-resident options are available. A full team of house parents will live on site and provide a programme of evening activities, both musical and social. Non-residents are also welcome to stay for any of the activities.

A quote from a mother of a teenage boy
‘He not only feels it is a place he can concentrate on his music, but he has a great social life too. He thinks he has made his best friends on the course, people with whom he has a great deal in common.’
It is possible to come for less than the full course. Please email Kathryn, the administrator to discuss options.
